DESCRIPTION

N-Acetyl-Cysteine is a powerful antioxidant, which helps neutralize free radicals (toxic waste products of cellular metabolism).* N-Acetyl-Cysteine has also been shown to give protection against a broad range of pollutants, including from Acrolein (found in barbecue, cigarette smoke, and auto exhaust).* Studies show that N-Acetyl-Cysteine can become attached to heavy metals, such as lead, mercury, and cadmium which come from automobile pollution and industrial processes and carry them out of the body.* N-Acetyl-Cysteine is converted into Glutathione, another compound with powerful detoxifying abilities.*.

Glutathione is an amino acid compound made of Glycine, L-Glutamic Acid, and L-Cysteine. N-Acetyl-Cysteine is also a better source of Glutathione than taking Glutathione itself, because less than half of supplemental Glutathione gets out of the digestive system and into the rest of the body. Supplemental N-Acetyl-Cysteine may promote healthy aging by increasing Glutathione levels, particularly in the liver, lungs, kidneys, and bone marrow, which use both compounds for protection.*
