DESCRIPTION
Feverfew was known to the ancient Egyptians and Greeks as a valuable
herb, used to promote normal inflammation and to support the menstrual system.* Feverfew contains the following lactones (parthenolide, michefuscalide, and chrysathenyl) with parthenolide the most active in promoting health.* Parthenolide and the other lactones inhibit the normal production of prostaglandins.* This inhibition of prostaglandins results in the promoting of normal inflammation. Feverfew has also been useful in relaxing the smooth muscles, promoting healthy circulatory flow.* Feverfew also is useful in promoting liver health.*
