DESCRIPTION

Glucosamine HCL (Hydrochloride) is the base ingredient for Glucosamine Sulfate and N-Acetyl Glucosamine. Glucosamine is an amino sugar found throughout the body. Glucosamine is the starting point for the synthesis of many important macromolecules including: glycoproteins, glycolipids, and mucopolysaccharides. These macromolecules make up many of the body's tissues including:* basement membranes, mucous membranes in the digestive and respiratory tracts and synovial fluid in the joints.* A low Glucosamine level in the body can lead to weakness in the tendons, ligaments, cartilage synovial fluid, mucous membranes, several structures in the eye, blood vessels, and heart valves.* Glucosamine HCL provides many of the same benefits as Glucosamine Sulfate in the body, promoting joint health, and also acting as a great athletic supplement.* Glucosamine HCL is one step removed from Glucosamine Sulfate and N-Acetyl Glucosamine in the body. This means that Glucosamine HCL must go through sulfating or the acetylating process before being used in the body, however this process is not limiting on its use.*
