DESCRIPTION
Nettles is also known as Stinging Nettle. The stinging, caused by the leaves injecting formic acid, histamine, serotonin, and the neurotransmitters acetylcholine and 5-hydroxytryptamine into the skin, is eliminated by cooking or extraction. Nettles is a mild diuretic, increasing
urine volume, and promoting urinary health.* The German Commission E Monograph indicates use for promoting health of the urinary tract. Nettles has traditionally been given to exhausted people for its rich nutritional content.* Nettles also contains glucoquinones, chlorophyll, minerals, and
vitamins. The silica content is especially valuable.
