Reishi is also known as ling chih, ling chih mushroom, ling-zhi, mannentake, and Ganoderma. Reishi is in the most highly rated herb category, in terms of multiple benefits and lack of side effects, in traditional Chinese herbalism.* It is the only known source of a group of triterpenes known as gaoderic acids. It has the most active polysaccharides (long chains of sugars) among herbal sources. Reishi also contains ergosterols, complete protein, unsaturated fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals.
